Blackjack

Rene is the next to leave. Jon walks him to the door and for a moment Holly is left all alone in the living room. She looks around, suddenly aware of how startlingly quiet it is, movie paused, Jon’s parents away for the weekend. There’s no traffic on the street and, save Rene and Jon’s muted voices filtering through from the foyer, it’s dead quiet. She becomes uncomfortably aware of her own heartbeat, but that may just be the fading effects of the pot they all smoked.

Blackjack—

—The name tears through her like a bullet. She sits up suddenly and puts her hand to her chest, trying her damndest to fight back the abrupt oncoming a panic attack. Her heart is beating so fast. Why is it beating so fast? She’s suddenly finding it hard to breathe.

“Holly?”

Oh no. The creepypasta tag is eating my posts again. We’ll see if my story survives when I post it later, haha.

Got a new story coming out tonight! In case you missed the set up that I buried in the middle of that massive ask I did a few days ago, here you go:

I’ve always loved some of the meme monsters (memesters, if you will), like Slendy (see: Distant Memories) and… er… Well, okay, so mainly Slendy, haha. So I thought, hell, why not make your own memester, Jamie? I’m not virally savvy enough to make anything popular enough to actually become a meme, but I figured I could at least make my own reoccurring monster. Something more than just a nebulous, shadowy force. Something with a name.

That being said, I’m not sure just how reoccurring he might be. I like this story enough I’m not sure I’ll have to revisit the idea again anytime soon. But hell, who knows. Something interesting might occur to me. :3

Anyway, expect to see the story up around 7pm, Central US time. :D

you have the most fantastic imagination.

Baw! Thank you! ;_______; ♥

I remember talking to my dad over the phone about this blog a little after I started it. I said something along the lines of, “horror comes to me easily.” He said, “Yeah. A little too easily…” Haha.

I just let my brain take me where it wills. I can’t really account for the content. XD

I feel rather bad that i pointed out i found your story, which such an outcry from an idiotic anon regarding someone stealing your work. Even so, it's your story, whether or not it has the name creepypasta. I'm pretty sure that even Stephen King for example.. his short stories could easily class as creepypasta, but if someone was ripping off his work, someone would have something to say about it. I find it hard to believe that you've lost any followers. Also I'M EXCITED FOR THE NEW STORY :D <3

DON’T FEEL BAD. The only person who should feel bad is the person who took my name off my story, haha. This was bound to happen sooner or later. It’s the risk any artist takes when putting their work on the internet. It’s just too bad this had to be so… messy, haha. The person who runs that creepypasta blog still hasn’t responded to me, unfortunately, but I suspect they probably haven’t seen my messages yet, it being memorial day weekend here in the States and all. But I just noticed they took my story Watch as well, right around the same time they took Concerning Unprotected Sex. I’m going to give them some time before I do anything stupid, like report them. I really really REALLY don’t want to, but if nothing changes after a couple of week or so… Well… :/

Seriously, though, I have to thank you for pointing this out. If anything, this whole thing gave me the chance to explain publicly where I draw the line with my work being shared. I can’t let anything slide, even if it’s just some little creepypasta blog stealing a little story. Because who knows how it might come back to bite me in the ass later. Especially if I don’t say anything and just let it go.

And as for that anon, they were just some contrarian idiot. I was hoping it was the admin of the creepypasta blog. If it was, it meant they’d heard me and obviously felt bad because they were acting so damn defensive. I thought I could speak reason to them. Now I’m pretty certain I was wasting my breath. Granted, they were most likely acting defensive because I jumped down their throat in that first ask. But still. That was the silliest reasoning I’d ever heard. It just made me so mad (still makes me mad, in case you haven’t noticed, haha). Especially because I was so damn certain it was from the admin him/herself. Kinda made a fool out of myself with that one. :(

And don’t worry, like I said, I didn’t lose anyone—I actually gained a follower. ;D

ANYWAY. YES! The new story! I haven’t thrown down too much of it yet, so it’s subject to change, as always. Buuuut… I’ve always loved some of the meme monsters (memesters, if you will), like Slendy (see: Distant Memories) and… er… Well, okay, mainly Slendy, haha. So I thought, hell, why not make your own memester, Jamie? I’m not virally savvy enough to make anything popular enough to actually become a meme, but I figured I could at least make my own reoccurring monster. Something more than just a nebulous, shadowy force.

Something with a name.

Expect to see that up this Thursday. ;3

Anyway, thank you again! I owe you one, seriously! I LOVE YOOOOOOOU! ;_________; ♥

(LATE!!) Someone is stealing your stuff? Want me to punch their faces? I can do it, I can punch faces. I mean, I would, if I weren't a pacifist. But I could write a strongly worded message! I would do that for you! I would punch faces with words! I don't care if you're labeled creepypasta, copypasta, or pleasestealthispasta, if you copyright your work and are kind enough to allow us to read your work for free in return for nothing but credit if we wish to share, then there's no excuse for theft.

Good lord, I love you. ;3; ♥

girlkillszombie replied to your post: actually I was just a random follower that thought you were being childish. People like to use things they like, especially if its labeled as creepypasta. I hope you can get over yourself and just write more fun things to read, or you’re going to lose more followers.

You’re not being childish for wanting recognition for your work. It is not okay to steal, it is not okay to repost without copyright. Period. End of story. If you lose followers for demanding that? They were jerks in the first place.
Actually, I gained a follower, haha. XD

guardiansilence replied to your postI’m so sorry about all this, guys. You won’t hear…

Do as you wish! Theft of intellectual property is a major issue over the internet. You’ve more guts than I putting your stuff out there and running the risk.

Seriously, thank you! And thank everyone! You guys are the beeeeeeest! X3

Just throwing out there to that anon that just because a story is labeled creepypasta doesn't mean people can steal it. I mean seriously, I don't think you've overreacted at all. I'd do the same if it were my work.

Thank you, exactly! I don’t mean to be a hard ass, but I can’t be flexible about my work being stolen, no matter how insignificant it may seem. There’s really no gray area about this.

(ps, asks don’t count towards my “no more butthurt” post, haha. ;P)

But seriously, thanks to all my followers who have been supportive towards me with all this. I love you guys so much. ;3;
